Portmerion - the magic of Italy

Voted as the most beautiful place in the UK by different organisations year and year and they are absolutely correct. That's why l go back there year after year and Alessio and l are always happy there. This is because it's our happy place and you simply cannot be unhappy when you are there.

A little sun filled stunning Italian village in North Wales. Ingrid Bergman made the film there and the golden Buddha was left from this film. Ringo Starr stayed there and the most famous series The Prisoner was made there too just to name a few.

All thanks to the architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis and the famous Portmerion pottery was created by her daughter. Brilliant architecture as the village was built around the Welsh mountains. Lots of statues and artifacts were left from the many films made in the village so lots of history to learn about.

We had visited Sir Clough Williams - Ellis's home which is a museum and it's free too, a stunning, warm and loving home. Well worth a visit for sure.

Highly recommended if you are visiting Porthmadog. We are so lucky as we are only minutes away from this memorable Italy village.
