The Real Story Behind Elixir
Some people find us because they fell in love with a serum that worked and then discovered it had been sold to them under someone else's name. If that's you, you're in the right place. This is the original, created by Georgina Tang, and the courts have confirmed it.
Where Elixir really began
Georgina created Elixir in 2015, handmade, after developing skin-kind products for her son Alessio during his chemo treatment. It worked and word spread. In 2017, a skincare seller called Kate McIver became a customer, then began reselling Georgina's serum under her own label as a white-label client. The serum inside the bottle was always Georgina's.
From 2018, that changed. Kate McIver began telling the public she had created the serum herself, renamed it "Secret Weapon," and used a third-party manufacturer to crack the exact formula without success, so they just copied all the ingredients. Georgina had to make a choice: let her own creation be claimed by someone else, or fight for it. She fought.

What the courts found
In 2023, after a trial in the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court, the judge found that the claim Kate McIver had created the serum was false. In his words, the story was, for marketing, attractive — but "it was not true." He found that "Both the express and the implied representation were false."
YNNY won on passing off and on copyright. The judgment concluded plainly: "YNNY succeeds in its claim for passing off." When the decision was appealed, the Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal in December 2023, upholding the result.
Why this matters for your skin
If you discovered this serum as "Secret Weapon," what you loved was Elixir, Georgina's formula, made the way it's always been made. There is only one original, and this is it. Same creator. Same hands. Same Cheshire workshop.
