The World Famous Theatre Alla Scala

Tonight we went to watch the opening night of Lucia di Lammermoor, a tragic opera based in Scotland. The story is about a lady called Lucia who fell in love with the heir of the King of Scotland. Her brother killed the King and the heir Edgar fled to France, then he forced her to marry a lord to secure his territory by lying that her love has a new girlfriend. 

Edgar turned up on the wedding day and was totally heartbroken and Lucia's brother attempted to kill him. This had affected Lucia tremendously resulting in her killing her husband on their wedding night, then she went mad and died soon after. 

Edgar learned of the tragic news and then killed him in order to be reunited with Lucia. What a tragedy!!! 

Gosh l almost cried and my young man really enjoyed it too as he sat through 3 hours of it without saying a word!

The male lead is the world's best tenor - Giuseppe Sabbatini and female lead is the world's best soprano - Giusy Devine, brilliant performance from them and the whole cast.

Lucky us as we were in a box, underneath the Royal box on the right side, next to the recording room for the television channel. 

What a night!!!!!
