Aloe vera most well-known benefit is soothing sunburned skin due to its moisturising and healing properties. Some research found the aloin, a compound found in the aloe plant, has anti-inflammatory properties that aid skin healing. Aloe vera is also pack full of antioxidants, and one antioxidant protein, in particular, metallothionein has been found to have a protective effect on skin that has been exposed to and damaged by UV rays. Therefore making this an ideal product to use after sun tanning or laser treatment. A natural source of salicylic acids and together with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties help to eradicate skin blemishes, acne, pimples and break outs.
