Last December, l rang my GP one morning and in the afternoon, l received a call for a MRI scan the next day at the Women's hospital. The following day l received a call to say l have a telephone consultation in two days time.
.
During the telephone appointment, l was referred for an operation, detailed examination and a biopsy under general anaesthetic.
.
Fast forward to today, everything is good as l received confirmation that the result of the biopsy is normal, so l am now discharged from the Suspected Cancer Clinic.
.
It was a very scary time whilst waiting for the result and also the hospital cancelled the first operation date, so l had to wait for another two weeks. My mind went on an overdrive obviously, however after l got over the shock, l decided not to talk about it to anyone and continue with life as normal.
.
Over the years, l had a few scary moments because l had pre-cancerous cells removed and at higher risk of developing cancer. Therefore l had to be very careful and so pleased that my GP felt the same.
.
Due to this urgent operation, the two cataract surgeries have been postponed to March. I was offered to have these surgeries by a private clinic within two weeks of referral, however l prefer to have these at St. Paul's hospital due to the complexity of the operations.
.
All l can say to anyone reading this is if you notice any abnormality, go straight to your doctor and ask to be referred to specialists.
.
l am eternally grateful to our NHS for their brilliant speedy service. St. Paul's hospital has been great too as they shared my test results with the Women's hospital so to speed up the pre-op assessment.
.
Happy and chilling out in our heavenly place for Valentine's weekend and Alessio just came in after riding his tricycle, full of happy smiles 😁😁😁.
