What a Wedding

Yesterday it was a very long day, so we came home and got some dinner for Alessio, then we went straight to bed.

It was a beautiful wedding from start to finish, very culturally diverse and people came from all over the world, several people were from the USA, Sierra Leone and Papua new guinea. All these people are from the groom's side.

Lots of vibrant coloured clothes from all cultures whereas I just wore something a bit less formal and cool knowing it was going to be a very hot day. Lots of walking so comfy shoes! Poor Alessio had to wear a suit as required for the wedding breakfast.

Really personal wedding ceremony at the The crypt chapel in the metropolitan cathedral, a place where Marianne was baptised.

After that we drove to West Tower in Ormskirk for the wedding breakfast, due to all sorts of delays, we didn't start eating until 4.30pm and finished the desert at 7.30pm. A very long wedding breakfast as there were lots of speeches in between the courses and the last one Marianne's father, Lord Alton of Liverpool.

Plenty of laughter on Marianne who is a criminal barrister for CPS and Shomari who works as a plastic surgeon at Whiston hospital by their friends and family.

A little surprise that the groom's father didn't make a speech as he's a world renowned professor in politics, sociology and diamonds, therefore he travels around the world as a speaker. Anyway Alessio missed his god father not speaking because he loves listening to his reassuring commending voice!

People were arriving for the evening party for the barbeque and live band, as we were leaving. Lots of doctors, nurses, lawyers and barristers, friends of bride and groom. An interesting evening no doubt as l already been told by a lawyer in the car park - "where there's a blame, there's a claim". Yes l asked two lawyers to move so that l can drive my car out.

Time flies, over 30 years ago, Shomari came to my wedding and yesterday l attended his wedding, absolutely thrilled for him.
