Back to my property, which fell through for the second time last week, and with my mortgage expiring in about two weeks, I had a pretty miserable weekend, to say the least.
My property went back on the market for sale on Sunday night, at a higher price than last time, but still £10,000 below its valuation. I honestly didn’t know what was going to happen.
Then, yesterday morning, a viewing was booked for today. This morning, a second viewing was booked for later today.
Both potential buyers came to view the property this afternoon, and then, late this afternoon, one of them made an offer!
Wow, wow, wow!
When I saw the message, I literally burst into tears. The past few days have been incredibly stressful, and I think all the worry, fear and uncertainty just came pouring out.
And then, just when I thought that was enough excitement for one day, I received an email from the estate agent saying that the original buyer — the one who had decided not to proceed last week — was now considering coming back and proceeding with the purchase!
But that’s not all…
I finally plucked up the courage to call my mortgage lender to ask for an extension, honestly not expecting much at all. To my absolute surprise, they gave me a 12-month extension with no penalty.
Even more amazingly, the lovely lady I spoke to spent time comforting me because she felt so sorry for everything I’d been going through. She even called me “darling.”
I was on the phone until 5.30pm, and when I finally put the phone down, I just sat there thinking, “What has just happened?”
I’ve always heard that good things come in threes, and today certainly felt like someone up there was looking after me.
So, thank you. Whoever you are, I’m incredibly grateful.
And now… I think it’s finally time to start looking for five cruises around the Mediterranean whilst I’m doing my very happy dance!

After the last few days, I think I’ve definitely earned it!
