Every time I see an ambulance with its blue lights on, it takes me back to the time Alessio needed that service urgently, especially the last time, when he had a severe allergic reaction. I kept shaking him and singing to him to keep him awake, but he was slipping into a semi-conscious state. The paramedic arrived just moments before he fell into a coma and injected the adrenaline immediately. Almost instantly, Alessio came back to consciousness while we waited for the ambulance to arrive.

It was a horrific incident, and I still remember it vividly, even though it happened over 10 years ago. I think that trauma will stay with me forever.
