A week ago, while we were staying at our holiday home in North Wales, we decided to explore somewhere we had somehow never visited before โ despite living only around 40 minutes away!
Our first stop was the famous Swallow Falls. ๐
After several days of rain, including on the day we visited, the waterfall was absolutely mighty! The water was rushing through the rocky gorge at incredible speed โ rather aggressively, in fact! ๐
I actually took two videos of the waterfall, but somehow they have both mysteriously disappeared from my camera! Very spooky indeedโฆ ๐ค๐ค๐ค
So, youโll have to make do with the first three photos, which capture the mighty Swallow Falls โ and, of course, my handsome model Alessio making an appearance! ๐
Next stop: the beautiful village of Betws-y-Coed. ๐ฒ
We had never visited before, so despite the sporadic downpours, we decided it was definitely time to explore. And what a lovely surprise it was!
Betws-y-Coed was full of charm, beautiful scenery and character. I was actually surprised at how busy it was considering it was such a rainy day!
We even discovered a lovely little cafรฉ in the railway station, complete with a little table decorated with roses โ apparently just for people to sit and take photos! How considerate of them. Of course, we couldn't resist! ๐น๐ธ
And there was plenty of opportunity for a little retail therapy too! ๐๏ธ
I treated myself to a gorgeous eco-friendly, insulated pink and grey reversible autumn raincoat. I absolutely love it โ perfect for the Welsh weather! ๐๐
Then came one of my favourite parts of the journey homeโฆ
We drove through Capel Curig, with the stunning River Llugwy flowing alongside the road, surrounded by the magnificent pine forest. The scenery was simply breathtaking. ๐ฒ๐๏ธ
We have spent many happy times walking through that pine forest, and if you ever get the chance to visit in April or May, the bluebell fields are absolutely spectacular. ๐
What a wonderful few days we had celebrating Alessio's 23rd birthday and making more precious memories together.
And the celebrations aren't over yet! ๐๐ฅณ
They continue on 12th September, when we're heading to Chung Ku Restaurant in Liverpool, Alessio's favourite restaurant, for his birthday party.
He really is one very spoiled โ and very loved โ young man! โค๏ธ
Have you visited Eryri National Park? ๐๏ธ
